What this can and cannot see

The database answers with real CORS headers, so every field it returns is readable here. The two Pages sites do not, so the browser hands back an opaque response: it proves the host answered and how long it took, but not the status code. A 500 that still answers looks the same as a 200. For status codes you need a check that runs outside a browser.
